Lexus’ answer to the BMW M3 sedan, the IS F, came in 2014 with only a slight trim change, even as smaller IS sedan models received a redesign. The 416-hp V-8, rear-wheel drive, limited slip rear differential, automatic eight-speed fast shift with paddle shifter, and well-sorted chassis make the IS F extremely fast around the track. More low-end torque can help it feel faster out of the way. Other attacks on it: cramped interiors, old-fashioned ergonomics, fuel-hungry, and expensive prices.
