- Lexus has announced prices for its 2021 IS sedan lineup.
- It still offers the IS300 and IS350 models, but the F Sport package is now standard on the IS350 and exclusive to the more powerful version of it.
- IS 2021 will reach dealers starting in October.
The Lexus IS benefiting from more attractive exterior styling for 2021, but its powertrains remain the same as before and the chassis and interior are only tweaked slightly. Lexus is resetting a somewhat confusing lineup to keep up with this update: it still includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a 3.5-liter V-6 in two different tone conditions, but trim levels are reset, with the most powerful. The IS350 (pictured) comes standard with the F Sport package and the low-powered IS300 model no longer offers that upgrade.
The basic rear-wheel drive IS300 now starts at $40,025, an increase of $440, and comes with a 241-hp turbo-four. All-wheel drive is a $2000 option, but the AWD IS300 has a completely different engine, a 3.5-liter V-6 with 260 hp.
The IS350 has a 311-hp version of the same V-6 and now comes standard with a previously optional F Sport upgrade, meaning its base price of $43,925 is $2,475 lower than last year’s IS350 F Sport. The AWD is also a $2000 option for the IS350 F Sport. To add complexity, the IS300 and IS350 models with rear-wheel drive have an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the all-wheel drive IS model has a six-speed automatic transmission.
If you can decipher all this and decide which IS 2021 model suits you, Lexus says the updated sedan will start arriving at dealerships in October.
