When we talk about Bugatti customers, we’re talking about some of the richest people in the world. These are individuals who hang out with fellow billionaires. Imagine, when buying a Bugatti Chiron for around $3,000,000 is just like buying candy for them, it’s easy to stand out from the crowd. However, when all your friends have 20-car garages, how do you stay ahead? The answer is by buying something extremely rare and expensive.
Enter the Bugatti Centodieci. With only ten units ever made, the Centodieci is the kind of car that you probably won’t come across in a hundred lifetimes. With a price tag of $9,000,000, it would take a hundred lifetimes to buy one. While cars like the Koenigsegg Jesko may be more aesthetically appealing, the Centodieci builds on a legacy that Koenigsegg and Pagani won’t reach in another century. Based on the Chiron, but with more power, the 2022 Centodieci is equipped with an 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbo engine that produces an impressive 1,578 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque. But is this car worth the price, or is it just an easy way for Bugatti to make money?

2022 Bugatti Centodieci
Imagine owning such a rare car, with only ten units worldwide. That’s the Bugatti Centodieci, first introduced in 2019, but scheduled for first delivery in 2022. Uniquely, this exclusive car cannot be pegged to a single model year. Bugatti works without traditional time constraints for pre-production testing, and they will be done with the Centodieci when they feel everything is perfect.
The first production examples are handed over to their owners in mid-2022. Interestingly, no two Chiron-based Centodieci models will look the same. Each unit is designed in its own unique way, making each car an unrivaled piece of automotive art. Production is also likely to continue into the following year, ensuring every detail conforms to Bugatti’s strict standards.
Speaking of exclusivity and performance, the Centodieci is truly an unrivaled status symbol. For those who can afford to own one, this car is not just a vehicle, but also an incredible statement of uniqueness and luxury. So, if you’re looking for a way to really stand out amongst your friends who also have luxury car collections, the Bugatti Centodieci is the answer.
Centodieci Exterior
The design of the 2022 Bugatti Centodieci is a modern interpretation of the legendary EB110 design. At the front, the ultra-thin LED headlights in a narrow slit give it a sharp and futuristic look, accompanied by a relatively small horseshoe-shaped grille with horizontal slats on either side. Underneath, there is a large carbon spoiler that adds to the aggressive feel of the car.
The side profile features redesigned wheels, giving it the futuristic look of a concept vehicle. The black A-pillars create the appearance of a visor for the glass area, behind which are the “cheesegrater” vents that deliver air to the engine with a unique glass cover.
The rear of the car is equally striking, with a large array of LED lights forming the taillight setup, as well as a large wing on top. At the bottom, a large diffuser and double-stacked exhaust complete the unique design.
A Closer Look
- Ultra-thin LED Headlights: Gives off a sharp and modern feel, perfectly matching the overall aesthetic of the Centodieci.
- Horseshoe Grille:
- Carbon Spoiler: Provides aerodynamic enhancement and a strong sporty feel.
- Cheesegrater Vents: This feature is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, aiding engine cooling.
- Large Wing and Diffuser: Adds stability at high speeds and reinforces the car’s sporty look.
Dimensions
The Bugatti Centodieci is slightly wider and lower than the Chiron on which it is based. With an overall width of 80.6 inches and a height of 47.3 inches, the Centodieci provides a sleeker and sportier profile. The overall length and wheelbase remain unchanged at 178.9 inches and 106.7 inches respectively. Thanks to the wider use of composite materials, the Centodieci is slightly lighter than the 4,400-pound Chiron. The empty weight of the Bugatti Centodieci is 4,356 pounds.
Exterior Colors
After the ten models sold out shortly after launch in 2019, there is no configurator that can be used to view the color palette or customization options available. Instead, each lucky buyer was able to specify the details of their Centodieci according to their individual desires and tastes. The first production example comes in the classic EB110 Blue color with Sport Silver wheels, matching the owner’s classic Bugatti EB110 GT which has a similar color scheme.
Centodieci Performance
Only Bugatti’s elite owners’ club and test drivers have the opportunity to drive the Centodieci, but we suspect that it will respond very similarly to the Chiron, with surprising throttle response and very smooth power delivery. This makes the car easy to drive in traffic while still offering exceptional performance.
Speaking of performance, the Centodieci is faster in a straight line than the Chiron, reaching 0-124 mph in just 6.1 seconds – 0.4 seconds faster than the Chiron, although the 0-60 mph time is still “less than 2.4 seconds”.
However, the Centodieci’s top speed is lower than the Chiron’s 261 mph, with a limit of 236 mph.
With the same kind of equipment and suspension as the Chiron, we predict that the Centodieci will be just as easy to drive and fun.
The Centodieci probably won’t feel any more agile or exciting, given the weight reduction of only 44 pounds, but that’s no bad thing.
It still offers an impressive driving experience, with all the comfort and performance expected from a Bugatti.
Engine and Transmission
The Centodieci uses the same engine as the Chiron, an 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbo engine, but with an additional 99 hp, although torque remains the same. The familiar seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sends 1,578 hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque to the permanent four-wheel drive system.
Although we weren’t so lucky to drive it, we can assume that the Centodieci will be as balanced and comfortable as the Chiron. Its AWD system should be able to find traction despite the enormous amount of power driving the wheels. In the end, a car like this will probably never be driven hard, but if there is an owner brave enough to do so, the experience is bound to be very satisfying.
Centodieci Gas Mileage
There are no official estimates from the EPA or the manufacturer for the Centodieci’s fuel consumption, but we can expect it to be similar to the Chiron, which achieves 9/14/11 mpg for city/highway/merged cycle and should give an average range of about 240 miles from its 22-gallon fuel tank.
Like the car it’s based on, the Bugatti Centodieci is very exclusive and very focused, meaning that while you’ll likely find only the finest materials on offer here (and each of the ten models is likely to be highly customized), the cockpit remains focused on the driver.
There’s ample interior space for driver and passenger, with two digital screens flanking the analog speedometer.
You won’t find many entertainment or comfort and luxury features, although there is climate control and seat heating – but the rest of the cabin is designed to provide driving pleasure. The interior of the Centodieci is almost identical to the Chiron, with just a few different trim pieces, accents and logos.
Seating and Interior Space
Like the Chiron, the Bugatti Centodieci is equipped with a pair of heated luxury seats that keep passengers perfectly comfortable. There is ample headroom and legroom even for a six-foot tall passenger. Instrumentation and gadgetry are designed towards the driver, and all controls are within easy reach. The seats also support comfort on long journeys, although overall visibility is poor. However, this is not an issue on a car that will probably only be moved for display.
Interior Colors and Materials
Like the exterior color choices, the look and feel of the Bugatti Centodieci’s interior will depend on the buyer’s wishes. The basic design is taken from the Chiron, which uses a lot of leather, carbon fiber, and aluminum throughout the cabin. The options for creating a unique interior are likely endless, allowing each owner to create a truly personal and exclusive space.
Centodieci Trunk and Cargo Space
There are no official figures for the Centodieci’s cargo volume, but you can be sure that the car’s level of practicality is inversely proportional to its price. On the regular Chiron, you only get two cubic feet of cargo space, and the Centodieci is unlikely to make much of a difference in this regard.
Inside the cabin, there is a reasonably sized glovebox accompanied by a place on the center console for your phone and keys. You also get storage compartments in the doors that can be closed, but not much else is offered in terms of storage space.
Features
Available information on the features included in the Bugatti Centodieci is limited, but you can expect features from the Chiron such as electrically adjustable heated seats, electrically adjustable steering, rain-sensing wipers, a rear camera, and electrically adjustable heated mirrors. Parking sensors are also likely included, along with cruise control, height-adjustable suspension, ambient interior lighting, and a cooled glovebox. As with the Chiron, don’t expect to find advanced driver aids such as adaptive cruise control or autonomous emergency braking.
Infotainment
Like other features on this car, the infotainment system in the Centodieci is likely to be very similar to the one on the Chiron, meaning there is no central screen. Instead, media details will be displayed on one of the TFT screens flanking the central speedometer. A Chiron sound system with a diamond membrane made by the Accuton brand is likely to be included as well. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity should be present, but smartphone integration systems like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are unlikely.
Centodieci Problems and Reliability
Centodieci is meticulously crafted and took two years to complete all ten units, so we don’t expect any reliability issues.
However, it may be worth noting that the Chiron has had several recalls. The issues included a rear left driveshaft that could break and a malfunctioning stability control system. Two other Chiron issues are side airbags that may not deploy properly and seat recliner brackets that are welded incorrectly.
For added peace of mind, Centodieci undergoes intense hot weather and durability testing to ensure that the car can withstand extreme conditions, or the kind of conditions it may never experience in its entire life.
While there is no publicly available info on the warranty, we expect the Centodieci to come with a four-year full warranty and free scheduled maintenance for the same period.
Centodieci Safety
The Centodieci is the kind of rare and expensive machine that would most likely never be intentionally involved in an accident, at least not by a rational thinking owner. Fortunately, although there are no crash test results for the Centodieci’s official safety review, Bugatti has crashed the Chiron several times without weakening its carbon body.
Key Safety Features
As standard, the Chiron comes with a rear camera, parking sensors, frontal, side, and curtain airbags, and rain-sensing wipers. You won’t get advanced driver aids like blind spot monitoring as standard, and while we’re sure customization on an exclusive car like this could enter that territory, new owners will be more focused on enjoying their exclusive super machine than worrying about adaptive cruise control.
